Parkpoom Doungkaew began playing Saxophone at 10 years old. In 2004, he enrolled at Chulalongkorn University, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Department of Western Music.
Meanwhile Parkpoom received the prize and did activities about
Saxophone constantly in both domestic and international.
He won the third prize from International competition in France.
Later, he studied classical Saxophone in France.
In 2012, Parkpoom graduated from CRR de Paris (Perfectionnement/Concertiste Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris.)
In 2013, Parkpoom won the first prize chamber music from Yokohama International Music Competition 2013 in Japan. And at the same year he got the highest score in Ensemble category, regional Round in Bangkok from 14th Osaka International Music Competition
In 2014, Parkpoom recived the 2nd Prix Chamber Music a l’unanimite Honneur from Concours International de Saxophone Nantes competition in France. Besides, he got many prizes in various categories from music competition successively.
In 2013-2016, Parkpoom was a special saxophone lecturer at Rangsit University Conservatory of Music. Furthermore, he had a chance to teach new generation saxophonists in various levels; both high school and Bachelor’s Degree. He was a lecturer for Saxophone Master Class in many institutes.
At present, Parkpoom was a special lecturer at Faculty of Music, Silpakorn University and Division of music, Faculty of Fine Arts, Srinakharinwirot University.
In 2022, Parkpoom invited his students from Faculty of Music, Silpakorn University and Division of music, Faculty of Fine Arts, Srinakharinwirot University to establish Thailand Saxophone Alliance. Thailand Saxophone Alliance is the ensemble that intended to raise the standard of Saxophone ensemble in Thailand.
