After his graduation in clarinet at the “Santa Cecilia” conservatory of Rome in 1994, Giammarco Casani broaded his education with G. Balbi, A. Carbonare, A. Marriner, D.Montanaro. During his training he developed a particular interest in chamber music, which led him to deepen his knowledge of the subject by attending the courses of Mº Alain Meunier at the “Accademia Chigiana”. As an orchestral, he performed for twelve years as the principal clarinet of the Rome Symphony Orchestra in the concert halls of the most important capitals of the world. He has worked as principal clarinet with the Orchestra of the Lyric Theater of Cagliari, the Chamber Orchestra of Mantua, the “Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese”, the Mozart Orchestra, the national orchestra of the “Accademia di Santa Cecilia”, the “Orchester National du Capitole de Toulose”, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the orchestra of the Rome opera, the ”Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana”, the “Orchestra Filarmonica Toscanini”, the “Orchestra Filarmonica della Calabria” and the “Orchestre National de France”. From 2011 to 2015 he worked with the Lucerne Festival Orchestra.

During his career he has played under the direction of great conductors such as Yuri Ahronovitch, Claudio Abbado, Antonio Pappano, Semyon Bychkov, Othmar Maga, Andris Nelson, Francesco Lanzillotta, Yang Yang, Diego Matheuz, Anton Nanut, Yeruham Scharovsky, Yu Feng, Filippo Arlia, Sesto Quatrini, Gabriel Chmura, Julian Kovatchev, Ivan Ciampa, Giampaolo Bisanti, Vladimir Jurowsky, Juraj Valčuha. In August 2015 he was appointed principal clarinet of the Ningbo Symphony Orchestra and guest principal clarinet of the National Opera House in Beijing.

Giammarco Casani also carries out intensive teaching activities. He works as a teacher at the Italian Clarinet Academy, he teaches also in numerous Masterclasses held in Italy and abroad, some examples: the Iberia-American Academy of clarinet (Portugal), and the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Nocera Terinese (CZ), where he gives an important contribution to the growth of new talents in the Italian school system. Giammarco Casani was part of the jury of the “Beijing International Music Competition” in 2009 and 2013, of the international competition “AudiMozart” in Rovereto 2014, of the “Marco Fiorindo” competition in Nichelino (To) 2014, of the Mozart Competition in Beijing 2016 and of the Lancelot competition in Rouen (France).

Giammarco Casani is artistic adviser for Selmer Paris, for which he is involved in the development for the Italian and Chinese market, and Vandoren official instrumentalist.

Après avoir obtenu son diplôme de clarinette au Conservatoire Santa Cecilia de Rome en 1994, Giammarco Casani a poursuivi sa spécialisation avec G. Balbi, A.Carbonare, A. Marriner, D. Montanaro. Il a collaboré comme première clarinette avec l’Orchestre du Théâtre Lirico de Cagliari, l’Orchestre de Chambre de Mantova, l’Orchestre Sinfonica Abruzzese, l’Orchestre Mozart, l’Orchestre National de l’Accademia de Santa Cecilia, l’Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulose, le Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra del Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, Orchestra Filarmonica Toscanini, Orchestra Filarmonica della Calabria te Orchestre National de France. De 2011 à 2015, il a fait partie de l’Orchestre du Festival de Lucerne. Au cours de sa carrière d’instrumentiste, il a joué sous la direction de chefs tels que Yuri Ahronovitch, Claudio Abbado, Antonio Pappano, Semyon Bychkov, Othmar Maga, Andris Nelson, Francesco Lanzillotta, Yang Yang, Diego Matheuz, Anton Nanut, Yeruham Scharovsky, Yu Feng, Filippo Arlia, Sesto Quatrini, Gabriel Chmura, Julian Kovatchev, Ivan Ciampa, Giampaolo Bisanti, Juraj Valčuha. En août 2015, il est nommé première clarinette de l’Orchestre symphonique de Ningbo et première clarinette invité de l’Opéra national de Beijing. Giammarco Casani est également professeur à l’Accademia Italiana del Clarinetto et a une intense activité pédagogique. Il a également donné beaucoup de Masterclasses en Italie et à l’étranger. A noter en particulier les cours à l’Academia Ibero-Americana do Clarinete (Portugal), et les masterclasses qu’il donne régulièrement au Conservatoire Tchaikovsky de Nocera Terinese (CZ), début d’une importante contribution à la croissance des nouveaux talents dans les écoles de musique italiennes. Il a été invité à faire partie du jury du “Concours international de musique de Pékin” en 2009 et 2013, du concours international “AudiMozart” à Rovereto 2014, du concours “Marco Fiorindo” à Nichelino (To) 2014, du concours Mozart à Beijing 2016 et du concours Lancelot à Rouen (France). Giammarco Casani est sélectionneur officiel pour l’Italie des clarinettes Henri Selmer Paris, et artiste officiel Vandoren.
