Valentina Palma (Venezuela) is one of the leading clarinetists of her generation. She graduated as a clarinet performer at the University Institute of Musical Studies in 2002, having studied with Professor Mark Friedman. In 2007 she received funding from the Mozarteum Foundation in Venezuela and obtained the Master of Music degree, graduating with honors at Simón Bolívar University. There she studied with clarinetist Eloy Salgado. In 2015 she obtained a fellowship from the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music.
Palma has received master classes and lessons with renowned international clarinetists:
Michel Arrignon (France), Antony Pay (England), Howard Klug (USA), Michelle Lethiec (France), Eddy Vanoosthuyse (Belgium), Heau Florent (France), Isaac Rodríguez (Spain), Paulo Sergio Santos (Brazil), Luis Rossi (Argentina), Valdemar Rodríguez (Venezuela) y Alan Troudart (Venezuela).

In 2001 she won the post of Co-principal Clarinetist in the Municipal Symphonic Orchestra of Caracas (one of the leading professional orchestras in Venezuela). She has toured with this orchestra around Venezuela, in South America and Europe.

Her graduate thesis won an award to be published. It is titled “Recursos del Folklore infantile Venezolano que Favorecen el aprendizaje del Clarinete” and presents the first Venezuelan method for teaching the clarinet to children using traditional folk songs for children. Valentina Palma (Valencia-Venezuela) es una de las clarinetistas más destacadas de su generación. Licenciada en Música (Ejecución Instrumental-Clarinete) egresada en el año 2002 del Instituto Universitario de Estudios Músicales en la cátedra del maestro Mark Friedman. En 2007 y gracias al financiamiento de la Fundación Mozarteum Venezuela, obtuvo una Maestría en Música con Mención Honorífica de la prestigiosa Universidad Simón Bolívar de Venezuela
bajo la tutela del maestro Eloy Salgado.
Ha recibido Clases Magistrales y cursos de perfeccionamiento con los maestros Isaac Rodríguez (España), Michelle Lethiec (Francia), Luís Rossi (Argentina), Eddy Vanoosthuyse (Bélgica), Paulo Sergio Santos (Brasil), Michel Arrignon (Francia), Antony Pay (Inglaterra), Howard Klug (U.S.A), Alan Troudart (Venezuela), Valdemar Rodríguez (Venezuela) y Florent Heau (Francia).

En 2001 Gana por concurso, el puesto de Primer Clarinete Co-Solista de la Orquesta Sinfónica Municipal de Caracas (una de las principales orquestas profesionales de Venezuela), con la que realizó giras de conciertos por Venezuela, SurAmérica y Europa.

Como trabajo de grado de maestría, Valentina Palma escribió el primer método venezolano para la iniciación al clarinete utilizando canciones infantiles tradicionales de su país, obteniendo por segunda vez la mención publicación.
