Erin Royer is a Yamaha-endorsed Saxophonist and Repair Technician from Perth, Western Australia. Erin is the Head of Saxophone at the University of Western Australia, the founding director of UWA’s Junior Saxophone School and runs her own private teaching studio. Erin has recently submitted all requirements for the Doctorate of Musical Arts Degree, specialising in saxophone acoustics at the University of Western Australia. Erin has performed at five international saxophone conventions around the globe and regularly performs with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Western Australian Symphony Orchestra, and Perth Symphony Orchestra.

Erin aspires to establish herself firmly as an internationally renowned soloist and ensemble performer, promoter, and tutor, and is determined to make Perth a sought-after place to study saxophone. In Perth, Erin can be seen performing solo recitals and playing with local ensembles including the award-winning Perth Sax Rockers and Perth Cabaret Collective, RC and Friends, Metro Big Band, Artemis Orchestra and the Corella saxophone quartet. Erin is also heavily involved in various saxophone events in Perth including the Clarinet and Saxophone Society of WA, the Massed Sax Project, Perth Saxophone Collective, and has worked with the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra on many of their regional tours. Erin is passionate about commissioning new repertoire for the saxophone and has dedicated the last 10 years of her musical journey to commissioning new works for the saxophone.

Her most recent commissions have included a new 75-minute suite for saxophone and electronics, Adjusting Parameters, by UK composer Jenni Watson (2022), Farewell Feathered Friends No.3 by Dutch composer Jacob Tv (2021), Bleaching by Jenni Watson (2021), Forms in River Foam by Australian composer Josten Myburgh and Poet Noemie Cecilia Huttner Koros (2021) and Glacial Undertow by Australian composer Reece Clark (2021). Erin has also composed multiple pieces for saxophone and electronics, and personally aims to facilitate several new works for saxophone every year.
