Clarinetist Cindy Lin was born in Taiwan, where she began her studies of piano and clarinet. In 2007, Cindy graduated with First Prize and highest honors from C.N.S.M de Paris and received a Soloist Diploma and Master of pedagogy degree from l’HEMU de Lausanne, Switzerland in 2008 and 2012.
Known for her superb tone (resmusica.com) and musicianship (Bachtrack), Cindy is principal clarinetist of Orchestre de Chambre de Geneve since 2006. She has played also with renowned orchestras such as the BBC Symphony Orchestra in London.
As Soloist, Cindy made appearances with orchestras in Australia and Europe. Her repertoire expands from Mozartto Artie Shaw Jazz Concerto. Her special performance of the Weber Clarinet Concerto No. 2 with the SBS Television and Radio Youth Orchestra in Beijing, China was made into a documentary and diffused by the SBS Channel. In 2016, she appeared as soloist alongside Corrado Giuffredi with the Sinfonietta of Lausanne at the Paleo Festival in front of 10,000 people. Many of Cindy’s performances have also been recorded live or in studio by broadcasting companies in Australia and Switzerland.
Based in Geneva, Switzerland, Cindy teaches historical Clarinet at the HEMU in Lausanne and Clarinet at the Conservatoire de Vevey.
