Zengmao Zhao studied at the Central Conservatory of Music under Professor Tao Chunxiao and graduated from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
Zengmao Zhao has been seriously devoted to teaching and has developed a unique teaching method. He has also frequently participated in international clarinet conferences and held concerts and masterclasses in the United States, Australia, Italy, Japan, Hungary and other countries.
He was President of the Woodwind Jury at the 27th Bucchi International Music Competition in Rome (Italy), where he was awarded the Jury Contribution Award. Four individual CDs and several volumes of clarinet textbooks have been recorded and released.
Zengmao Zhao is chairman of Asia Association of Chamber Music.
