Following the release of synthetic reeds for alto saxophone in January 2025, here are the reeds for tenor saxophone!
Two models are available: VK1 Traditional and VK7 Jazz.
VK1 synthetic reeds guarantee classical saxophonists consistent and reliable playability without compromising sound quality. Resistant to environmental variations, they offer a stable and reliable solution for musicians, even in the most demanding conditions. Ideal for all classical styles, marching bands, and pit orchestras.
VK7 synthetic reeds are designed to provide a dynamic and responsive playing experience for jazz musicians. Thanks to their durability and resistance to environmental variations, the VK7 guarantees jazz players a stable and reliable option, even in the most demanding situations. Suitable for all jazz playing styles.
The Vk reeds for saxophone are made of a composite material specially developped by Vandoren. It is the result of 7 years of research.
This composite fiber material does not imitate the structure of cane.
It reproduces its essential physical characteristics to obtain the same acoustic behavior.
The VK reed strenghts correspond to a 1/6 of a cane reed strength (see below)
Two reeds of the same strength are strictly identical : unparalleled consistency resulting in reliable stregth, sound, articulation, projection and high note stability.
