Avec un parcours musical des plus éclectiques, Pierre-Marie Bonafos navigue des saxophones aux clarinettes sur les musiques classiques, contemporaines et jazz. Compositeur de nombreuses pièces jazz pour ensemble de saxophones et auteur d’un manuel traitant de l’improvisation, sa carrière artistique évolue dans plusieurs formations pour lesquelles il compose et arrange le répertoire : duo « Ma Non Troppo » (orgue et saxophone soprano), « Kollectif » (tentet jazz), « Reeds and Brass » (sextuor : 3 saxophones, 3 cuivres). Il est régulièrement invité par l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France en tant que saxophoniste. En 2012, il compose un opéra pour enfants, orgue et saxophone « Yvan et l’oiseau » qui fût créé cette même année dans le cadre du programme « 10 mois d’école et d’opéra » en partenariat avec l’Opéra de Paris. Il enseigne le jazz ainsi que le saxophone au Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental de Gennevilliers.

 

 

Pierre-Marie Bonafos browses the saxophones and clarinets on classical, contemporary and jazz music with the most eclectic musical route. Composer of many jazz pieces for ensemble of saxophones and author of a manual dealing with improvization, his artistic career evolves in several formations for which he composes and arranges the repertoire: duo «Ma Non Troppo» (organ and saxophone soprano), «Kollectif» (tentet jazz), «Reeds and Brass» (sextuor: 3 saxophones, 3 brass). He is regularly invited by the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra as saxophonist. In 2012, he composed an opera for children, organ and saxophone «Yvan et l’Oiseau» that was created that year in the framework of the program «10 months of school and opera» in partnership with the Paris Opera. He teaches jazz as well as saxophone at the « Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental de Gennevilliers ».
