Vincent David est le chef de file d’une génération de saxophonistes qui développe les possibilités musicales et techniques de son instrument. Ayant remporté trois prix internationaux lors de ses études, il est un musicien accompli et complet. Il est à l’origine de nombreuses créations dont Dialogue de l’ombre double de Pierre Boulez, Troisième Round de Bruno Mantovani Trame XIII de Martin Matalon.

Il se produit en soliste avec des orchestres tels l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, l’Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, l’Orchestre national de Strasbourg, l’Orchestre National de Montpellier, l’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, l’ Ensemble InterContemporain, le Tapiola Sinfonietta d’Helsinki , l’Orchestre Philharmonique d’Helsinki le National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, l’ Orchestre Philharmonique de Stuttgart, MAV Orchestra de Budapest, le Navy Band Orchestra de Washington, La Camerata Aberta de Sao Paulo, Musica Assoluta d’Hannover. le Scottish Chamber Orchestra, TM+, Court-Circuit…

Il collabore avec de nombreux compositeurs : Luciano Berio, Pierre Boulez, Peter Eötvös, Gérard Grisey, Philippe Hurel, Michael Jarrell, Bruno Mantovani, Mathias Pintscher, Mauro Lanza, Philippe Leroux, Marin Matalon, Yann Maresz, Marc Monnet, Yann Robin, Alberto Posadas, Bernhard Lang…

Il collabore depuis 1998 aux concerts de L’Ensemble Intercontemporain sous la direction de chefs comme Pierre Boulez, Jonathan Nott, David Robertson, Peter Eötvös, Suzanna Mälkki, Peter Rundel. Pierre-André Valade, Pascal Rophé, Matthias Pintscher, Bruno Mantovani.

Il est aussi dirigé au sein de l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France par Myung-Whun Chung, Vladimir Spivakov ou l’Orchestre de l’Opéra de Paris par Jeffrey Tate…

Compositeur et chef d’orchestre, il participe au répertoire de son instrument avec des pièces solo comme « Sillage », « Pulse », « Éclats d’échos » et « Échos éclatés », des sonates avec piano :« Mirages », « Nuée Ardente » ; commande du concours International Adolphe Sax de Dinant,« l’éveil de la toupie », des concerti « Reflets » pour sax alto et orchestre, « Arches » pour sax soprano et orchestre, « Rhizome » pour sax alto et cordes ainsi que de nombreux quartets et duo.

Ses œuvres sont éditées par Billaudot dont il est un des directeurs de collection.

Il est aussi actif dans les musiques improvisées (jazz, contemporaines) à travers des rencontres avec des musiciens comme Pierrick Pedron, Christophe Monniot, Jean-Charles Richard, donnant parfois lieu à des enregistrements (Vivaldi Universel et Crossover). Il fonde le quatuor « Fireworks » avec Jean-Charles Richard, Stephane Guillaume et Baptiste Herbin et enregistre un disque de ses compositions pour quatuor de saxophones jazz en 2014.

Sa discographie se compose de : Troisième Round de Bruno Mantovani en soliste avec l’ensemble TM+ ( Aeon), Boulez/Berio ( Aeon), Crossover (Le chant du Roseau) , French Style (Le chant du Roseau), Flow ( Nomadmusic), Fireworks ( Le chant du roseau) et comporte aussi deux CDrom pédagogiques Musiki’t .

De plus, Il enregistre avec l’Ensemble Inter Contemporain « Pli selon pli » de Pierre Boulez et « Nebmaat » d’Alberto Posadas.

Vincent David fait enfin de nombreuses Master-Classes à travers le monde. Il est un pédagogue reconnu et attache de l’importance à la transmission de son expérience et de sa passion pour la musique. Musicien généreux il est très attaché à l’ouverture artistique et promeut la curiosité et l’exigence comme éléments moteurs au sein de sa classe du C.R.R de Versailles.

He works since 1998 with concerts Intercontemporain Ensemble under the direction of conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Jonathan Nott, David Robertson, Peter Eötvös, Suzanna Mälkki, Peter Rundel. Pierre-André Valade, Pascal Rophé, Mathias Pintscher, Bruno Mantovani and he is also directed in the Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio France by Myung- Whun Chung, Vladimir Spivakov and the Orchestra of the Paris Opera by Jeffrey Tate.

Composer and conductor, he has composed for his instrument, solo pieces such as « Sillage » for soprano sax, « Pulse » and « Éclats d’échos » for alto saxophone, « Mirages » for soprano saxophone and piano », « Nuée Ardente » for alto sax and piano commissioned by the International Adolphe Sax competition in Dinant, « l’éveil de la toupie » and concertos « Reflets » for alto sax and orchestra, « Arches » for soprano sax and orchestre, « Rhizome » for alto sax and strings. He has also wrote Jazz duets and quartets.

He is also active in improvised music (jazz, contemporary) through encounters with musicians such as Pierrick Pedron, Christophe Monniot, Jean-Charles Richard, sometimes giving rise to recordings (Vivaldi Universal and Crossover). He is the founder of the
« Fireworks » Quartet with Jean-Charles Richard, Stéphane Guillaume et Baptiste Herbin and record his music.

His discography consists of: « Troisième Round » by Bruno Mantovani soloist with the ensemble TM +, « Boulez / Berio », « Crossover » and « French Style », and « Fireworks » but it also has two instructional CDrom Musiki ‘t.

He is also director of collection with Editions Billaudot.

Vincent David finally made numerous master classes throughout the world. He is a recognized teacher and attaches importance to the transmission of his experience and his passion for music. Generous musician he is very attached to the opening and promotes artistic curiosity in his class of the CRR de Versailles.
